Yellow is a surprisingly versatile color that perfectly partners with so many different combinations to create unique moods and a warm, welcoming ambience to any space. From sunshine yellow to burnt ochre and gloriously light pastel ‘custard’ yellows, the variety of tones and variations on offer complement almost any tone. Keep things earthy with a soft sage green paint and liven it up with a swish of yellow fabric to turn a dull living room into a rustic retreat. Neutral paint softens the vicariousness of yellow, giving it a more gentle, laid-back feel. Or add a zesty burst of freshness to a kitchen or bathroom with white paint and bright yellow curtains.
One particularly elegant contemporary partnership is yellow curtains and dove gray paint with cool blue undertones to add a sleek, refined look to a south-facing room. Or go totally retro with the ultimate mid-century combination of yellow curtains and brown paint. No matter what you partner yellow curtains with, our custom-made drapes are made to your exact specifications, so they feel instantly at home in any room.
What lining do I need for my curtains?
We offer various lining options for our made to measure curtains. Each has its own practical properties while also enhancing the overall look and feel.
- Our standard lining is the most affordable option and is used solely to enhance and give your main fabric a backing, helping to protect the fabric from direct sunlight by filtering out the light in the room whilst also creating a nice drape. This light filtering option is lightweight and produces a soft natural glow in daylight hours. Available in ivory.
- Our satin finish lining is medium weight that gently filters out light whilst creating an improved drape and finish. Satin lining is available in ivory and white.
- Our blackout/thermal lining is a specialised heavyweight lining option and our top pick to eliminate light from the room when drawn. It also helps protect the main fabric from direct sunlight to avoid fading. Our blackout/thermal lining helps keep the room cool in summer by reducing the amount of light dispersing into the room, and during those colder months, it helps retain heat, making this a fantastic choice for bedrooms. Other benefits include reducing energy consumption and noise pollution. This option is ideal for windows and doors with a draft and gives a beautiful drape and finish. Our blackout/thermal lining is available in two colours, ivory and white.
- Interlined curtains contain an extra layer of lining that is placed between your main curtain fabric and the backing/lining. The interlining provides greater thermal efficiency and gives your curtains more body. This is a great option if you want your curtains to have a fuller look, creating a more opulent and luxurious feel.
What kind of fabric is used to make your curtains?
Will there be joins in my Curtains?
Larger curtains will require a join in the fabric. Curtains over 1260mm wide will have a single seam in the fabric. If your fabric contains a pattern, the panels will be pattern matched across the seams.
Are blackout and thermal curtains the same product?
