From subtle lilac and lavender to regal purple and deep plum, there’s a whole world of purple to discover at Graham & Brown. Purple patterns bring that wonderful heritage look into a vintage home, especially when perfectly partnered with gloriously indulgent colors such as green paint and deep, dusky pinks. Or why not go full-on royal with metallic wallpaper to bring out the sense of drama in a set of full-length purple bedroom curtains? An ideal color palette for a living room would include purple paint harmonised with white paint trim on the doors, skirting and window frames. Then, finish the look with purple curtains featuring a striking floral design and deep purple elements.
Partner a set of purple plaid curtains with fresh white paint for a bold splash of energy in a kitchen for a heritage look. Or swap the white for a warm gray paint to create an ultra-chic modern space with a nod to the past. For a bathroom, choose purple curtains with a lighter touch and pastel paints in gentle, soothing colors. If you want to keep it subtle, purple curtains add just the right amount of colour to create a tranquil, feel-good space.
What lining do I need for my curtains?
We offer various lining options for our made to measure curtains. Each has its own practical properties while also enhancing the overall look and feel.
- Our standard lining is the most affordable option and is used solely to enhance and give your main fabric a backing, helping to protect the fabric from direct sunlight by filtering out the light in the room whilst also creating a nice drape. This light filtering option is lightweight and produces a soft natural glow in daylight hours. Available in ivory.
- Our satin finish lining is medium weight that gently filters out light whilst creating an improved drape and finish. Satin lining is available in ivory and white.
- Our blackout/thermal lining is a specialised heavyweight lining option and our top pick to eliminate light from the room when drawn. It also helps protect the main fabric from direct sunlight to avoid fading. Our blackout/thermal lining helps keep the room cool in summer by reducing the amount of light dispersing into the room, and during those colder months, it helps retain heat, making this a fantastic choice for bedrooms. Other benefits include reducing energy consumption and noise pollution. This option is ideal for windows and doors with a draft and gives a beautiful drape and finish. Our blackout/thermal lining is available in two colours, ivory and white.
- Interlined curtains contain an extra layer of lining that is placed between your main curtain fabric and the backing/lining. The interlining provides greater thermal efficiency and gives your curtains more body. This is a great option if you want your curtains to have a fuller look, creating a more opulent and luxurious feel.
What kind of fabric is used to make your curtains?
Will there be joins in my Curtains?
Larger curtains will require a join in the fabric. Curtains over 1260mm wide will have a single seam in the fabric. If your fabric contains a pattern, the panels will be pattern matched across the seams.
